A Legacy of
Ethical
Leadership and
Democratic
Change

Tomaïno Ndam Njoya's story is bound to the Union Démocratique du Cameroun (UDC)

Both were born from the same struggle for democracy in a land where freedom once seemed distant.

Early Life & Political Awakening

Tomaïno Ndam Njoya’s political journey began as a Public Law student at the University of Ngouaekelle, Yaoundé

  • Rule of law
  • Separation of powers
  • Human rights
  • Responsible governance

She was determined to defend the voiceless and create a political system that serves citizens, not the few.

Patricia’s political journey began at the University of Ngouaekelle in Yaoundé, where she studied Public Law and embraced democracy’s core principles. From the start, she was determined to defend the voiceless and build a system that serves the people.

Joining the UDC

In 1991, as Cameroon embraced multiparty democracy, Tomaïno Ndam Njoya found her home in the UDC, founded by Dr. Adamou Ndam Njoya. The UDC’s mission:

  • Ethical politics
  • Moral leadership
  • Citizen-centred governance

Joining the UDC was not a career choice, it was a commitment to a cause, often facing political violence, repression and systemic challenges.

Leadership Across Decades

Patricia rose through the UDC’s ranks, from activist to National President, always carrying forward the party’s mission

  • Put people at the center of policy
  • Promote democratic values and fundamental freedoms
  • Defend national unity while celebrating diversity
